EXHIBITION

 BEYOND TIME  -   拂尘·时逝

The Rhythmm Gallery in China presents the exhibition "Beyond Time • 拂尘·时逝" by Cris during the month of July 2024 in The Liangbaoluo Museum of Xi'an. Cris's Beyond Time is an interdisciplinary exhibition that will be presented in China, it consists of three interconnected layers: Paintings, Poetry, and Audiovisual Animation & Virtual Reality.

The exhibition will open at the Liangbaolou Gallery of the Xi’an Museum, China, with the participation of both local and international artists and scholars. Cris's works evoke profound reflections on the essence of time, existence, life, and death through large-format abstract acrylic paintings on canvas. The exhibition features 10 paintings, which together span approximately 30 linear meters and cover around 45 square meters. These works are accompanied by digital animations projected from the paintings, creating an immersive virtual reality experience enriched with original music.

The accompanying book for this project is being published by Calambur Publishing House in Barcelona, Spain. Beyond Time is a poetic journey through time, memory, and existence. With 38 poems in Spanish and English, plus a selection in Chinese, the book explores the fleeting and the eternal, love, life, death, and the essence of being. From tributes to great thinkers to profound introspection, the author invites readers into a dialogue with the past, present, and future, challenging the linearity of time in each verse.

Beyond Time is an artistic exploration that transcends the linearity of time, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in an experience where past, present, and future converge in a single moment. Through color, abstraction, and visual fragmentation, each work becomes a reflection of our perception of time—fleeting, eternal, mutable. This exhibition is not only meant to be observed but felt, challenging the traditional notion of time and opening a space for introspection and wonder.

The exhibition will artfully unite music, color, and poetry, bolstered by interdisciplinary research.

The melody composition will be inspired by the colors within the paintings, taking cues from the Circle of Fifths theory.

Similarly, the poetry will be crafted to capture the emotions stirred by the vibrant artwork.

ILUSION_edited.jpg

Beyond time,
when nothing is left
and all is past.
There will remain the written poems,
the painted pictures,
the hugs given.

When there will be no more space
between heaven, earth and hell,
and everything will be present.
The lost hours will come,
the unspoken words,
the moments that are gone.

All the uncertain future will become certainty,
it is time, death waits patiently for us
to cross to the other shore.

Beyond time, when nothing is left and all is past:
I will embrace every smile, caress and dawn,
that in the sleeplessness of endless nights
between wars and miseries,
knew how to shelter me, tuck me in, and hold me close,
making this passage through the valley of existence
a warm sigh and a beautiful memory.

Beyond time, nothingness.
Beyond nothingness,
the life that is leaving us.
